Improper Installation

I had a system installed 6 years ago that never worked right. I kept calling them to check it and each time, they said it needed Freeon. The last time they came out for annual service and said everything was fine. One week later I had no Freeon and they charged me over $400...just a week after my service contract expired. I have now called another company because its not cooling again. There had to be a reason why I have to put Freeon in the system every year. I find out that they did not install the unit properly, there was no permit and its installed in such a way that you cannot access the unit to check the coil or clean the pan. I paid for them to clean the coil and pan several times over the past 6 years and they never did it. Now the unit has to be replaced because the coil is corroded due to lack of cleaning over the past 6 years and is leaking. It was probably leaking all along. I was also told that there was a recall on the coil for this unit and they should have checked it the last time they were here and replaced it. Now I know that they could not replace it because you cannot access the unit due to how they installed it. They installed it with a chain and bolt and did not put in the metal strut that is required to hold up the unit. The bolts are bending. I am in danger of having the whole thing crash through my ceiling. I called them today and tried to talk to someone, asked for a supervisor. I was told that none of the supervisors were available and if I wanted someone to check it out, I would have to pay a $95 service fee. They missed out because I went with another company and I am purchasing a whole new system, which will be permitted and inspected.....and with a 10 year warranty on everything. I am at a huge disadvantage right now because I have no AC. I am being forced to replace the entire unit. The other company cannot begin to work on the existing unit because its not permitted and it's dangerous for them to touch it because it's not properly installed. This is not how you do business. At the very least they should have had someone come out for free to check out what I was talking about. They just lost a great customer.

Air Around the Clock - Money making machine RIP OFF

I bought a brand new Rheem unit from them in 2009, in 2011 the unit started freezing up, it would work on and off (the evap motor), randomlly, it would run for 3-4 cycles, and freeze on the next, I would turn it off and when turnned back on it would work for months without issues, called them up and the tech came out and the unit was not running since they asked me to turn off and keep off until they took a look at it. They guestimated it was the evap motor, they were not 100% sure but what the *** right I'm paying for it, he quoted me $275 (for 1hr job)...I told them I would call them back. The unit worked untill a week ago (Sep 2013) how can a bad motor work for another 2 years???... so the unit started acting up again, same thing, freezing up, it would work on and off (the evap motor), randomlly, it would run for 3-4 cycles, and freeze on the next... called them up again, tech came out but unit working perfectly, so I explained what was happening, the tech said, by what you are telling me it has to be the motor (guessing again, now 2 yrs later quoted me $375 minus visit which was $95)... told him I'll call you back. The unit has been working 2 days on half day off, and so on... so decided to finally change the motor before warranty runs out on Jan 2014, they quoted me $1100 if replaced after warranty. So I called and spoke to BRIAN(manager, terrible), their supervisor, bad attitude, dissmissive, no respect for the customer, could care less, I guess they have too many customers and can afford to treat like ***... He told me that inflation caused price of replacement to go up, and that he could not guarantee it was the motor, so if after replacing the same thing occured, then bad luck... very rude, even suggested I wanted things done for free, when what I wanted was some reassurance that I was not going to end up replacing the whole unit by troubleshooting each part ang getting ripped off that way ( I mean these people do this for a living every single day, but no assurances, guess work, extremlly expensive)... We hung up and later that day I called back asking for someone above him since I was pissed at his attitude, finally he came to his sences and treated me with some respect, and offered to replace the circuit board for free if the same problem occured after installing new motor... I then read this blog... all these complaints and also read blog on complaints about Rheem, same *** company, I called back Air Around the Clock and cancelled appointment... $375 for 1hr labor when part is under warranty???? who makes this kind of money, are you kidding me, these people are sick, MONEY SICK!!!, the tech had also offered me a 1 year service deal $185 for 2 visits a year + 10% off labor... the 1 visit is $95 with no service agreement... how is that a deal????? Don't use this company, and don't install Rheem.

Air Around the Clock - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Air Around the Clock - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
Air Around the Clock - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! - Image 2
I purchased a new air conditioner on 4-25-13. They install it wrong and water was leaking on the cover and ground. Since installing it they have not fixed it. I contacted them 12 times, along with a letter. Air Around the Clock refuses to fix it. Air Around the Clock staffs when you call them are rude and unprofessional. I have asked for the owner and manager many times Air Around the Clock staff refuses to take a message and then the owner and manager refused to call me. This is a problem that could have been handled easily. BUYERS BEWARE! INSTALLATION WAS NOT DONE RIGHT, AIR CONDITIONER LEAKING WATER, MY INTAKE TEMPERATURE AND OUT GOING VENT AIR IS NOT RIGHT (TESTED BY FPL). THE YEAR LABOR AND WARRANTY MEAN NOTHING IF YOU CAN NOT GET THEM OUT TO SERVICE IT. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND AIR AROUND THE CLOCK TO ANYONE.

This is an update to my original issues with Air Around the Clock. I mentioned in the past that due to improper installation that there would be future problems with my air conditioner.

The air conditioner was installed on 4-25-13 since my letter dated 5-30-13 and many phone calls and emails to Air Around the Clock they refused to contact me and fix any issues. On 7-30-13 my brand new air conditioner quite working.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM AIR AROUND THE CLOCK.

As you can see many of us on here have the same issues with them. I personally know of an individual I work with that now is having service related issues with them.

That pvc drain is improperly installed and probably why it leaks, it shouldn't have the 90 degree fitting on the end and especially not turned up like that. The curve in the pipe is the trap and is ment to be there but the fitting on the end was added.

24 hour emergency service???

I have a service contract with Air Around the Clock. My air went out the night before I was expecting 50 people. This is not an emergency to them...it was to me. ALthough their website says 24 hour emergency service, they apparently mean floods. They explained that an emergency to me is not necessarily an emergency to them. I found someone to come out that night and fix the A/C. Air Around the Clock offered to come the following afternoon when they weren't as busy (after my company left). My suggestion: 1) don't pay for their contract; and 2) don't believe "24 hour emergency service". ItEven though the name of the company is "AIR" that is apparently not an emergency.

Air Around The Clock-- RUDE & A RIP OFF!!!! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY

I had a tech from air around the clock come to my home and tell me all the coils needed to be replaced and that I should consider putting a whole new unit in as well. I ended up doing all the work they recommended that I do & paid a total of 3,695.00.

The people who answer the phones are so so rude. I had a coupon that was supposed to save me 125.00 for the initial service charge if I did the work with them. They are refusing to give me the 125.00 back because I didn't do the work the day I received the estimate. I waited 2 days...Wow!!

I tried explaining to the girl that it was 2:00 in the afternoon when I got the initial estimate and this was a 8 hour job. I also wanted to discuss this with my husband. It was a lot of money...not just 50.00 that I was about to spend. The girl was so rude tome on the phone and said they will not issue the 125.00 refund for the service fee.

I let her know that I will be telling other people out there about this company and she said...do what you want to do and hung up on me.

I wish I would have read all the terrible reviews Air Around The Clock has before I used them. If you read this before getting screwed by them...call a different company!!

Total Rip off !!! don't let them in your home

I bought my house 4 years ago, AC worked ok, but always found that one side of the house was always colder than the other. Seeing that Air around the clock had a 19.95 AC special, i decided to give them a try seeing them highly publicized. When the tech came, I told him of the issue i was having but other than that the unit worked well. The Tech checked my thermostat, then when the unit stopped ( which is should once set temperature is achieved) he claimed my fan wasn't working. I followed him in the Attic where he used his Iphone as a flashlight holding it in his mouth at time opened my Air handler and told me than my circuit board was bad thus my handler fan wasn't working. I asked how could that be when it was just working before you walked in the door. States he doesn't know but it isn't functional now. He did bypass the circuit board, problem is unit ran nonstop. He quoted me on the spot that the board was going the cost $325 if he should order it. Decided to back to him. Feeling uneasy by the encounter, I had another AC guy verify the claim. Turned out there was nothing wrong with my circuit board. Unit was working fine. $ 325 I didn't need to spend To make matters worse, I called the company and spoke the supervisor Brian. He was very dismissive, third degree the entire conversation. Tried to convince me that stopped working when my tech was here, but may start working after, stressed that was the nature of circuit boards. I may not a lot about AC's but i know when someone is trying to BS me. I guess if management has this approach, not much more can be expected of the average worker.

No service, rude and loss of use

Had a service call, sold a 'bill of goods' , maintenance, coil clean, duct work, after $900 later , and more than 2 weeks still no joy. Tenants in the house moved out, costing us more than $5000 in loss of use. Phone Staff are rude, no urgency and certainly not around the clock. After 5 'service' appointments, (people show up, have no clue and do not come back). After several calls Escalation to a 'supervisor' who has missed 3 appointments and even when he showed would not wait 5 minutes and we are still waiting for it to be fixed. Do not use this company.

If this leads to a breach of contract or you feel it necessary then file a complaint with the licensing bureau. I have been told that Air Around the Clock has had many complaints from the board and has been fined in the past for similar issues.

FYI, you can file with the licensing board, if they breach the contract with you. I have been told Air Around the Clock has had many complaints filed against them and had sanctions place against them.

Air Around The Clock

This company has the worst customer service. NEVER USE THEM. DO NOT EVER PURCHASE A NEW A/C UNIT FROM THEM. I did, ONE MONTH AGO, & the unit broke. According to Eric Perreira, CEO, he stated that the installer did not realize how hot it gets in Florida so he did not program my a/c unit properly. He then stated that I purchased my unit in Feb when I purchased it in April. They have had 3 techs out who have no clue what they are doing. Today, I had an appt for 9. It is now 4:30 & I had to call them & now the tech can't come out until after 6pm when I have had someone home in the dying heat all day! They are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. The customer service "girls" need some serious training. AGAIN NEVER EVER USE AIR AROUND THE CLOCK. USE ANY ONE ELSE BUT THEM!

I posted above but if their lack of service and refusal to address the issues within a reasonable amount of time then I would file a complaint with the licensing board. I have been told Air Around the Clock has had many complaints and been fined in the past.

Air Around the Clock, On time, Good on their word

I call Air Around the Clock on Friday at 3:00 pm they scheduled for Monday between 10am and 12pm. Showed up at 10:45 am for a free second opinion. That's exactly what I got. No charge no hard sale. Now I just have to come up with the cost of the A/C unit. I am satisfied with them. Travis was the name of the tech that came out. I am sure there are techs that just don't care, but this Travis did. I hope to be able to recommend him when someone needs the air conditioning done. Give him a try.

Air Around The CLock

I set up an appointment for Friday May 17, 2013 from 2-4. The tech was on time at 2. He found the problem but did not have the piece to repair it. He said he would come back Saturday to fix it he never showed and never called. Called the service center to ask where he was they said the shop was closed and didnt have the part. Set up an appointment for Monday morning. Waited all day no one ever showed I had to call again and they told me they still didnt have the part. This has been the worst customer service I have had with any company. They are so busy they do not care about the customer. No one seems to care when you call and ask whats going on. Summer time in South Florida with no air. I recommend to anyone that needs service or a new AC to go with any other company that will actually care about your business. ATCAIR is the worst company you can everuse stay away!

New AC unit and 5 Service calls later, no way

Here i go for the 5th service call since installation... Lived here for over 3 years and not one problem with AC unit till ATC said it has broke down and I needed a new AC unit for $ 3,300. They installed it, in July 2011. Since then tonight was my 5th service call. They blame it all on the Manufacturer ( Rheem ) But they use their parts and units. I have paid almost another $ 1000 since and another call tomorrow morning, because now the unit is NOT cooling. They ATC are not even really trying to make it right. They just say it's not their fault. Last time it was the Evaporator fan motor, the two times before that was the transformer. Parts are covered under warranty but not labor. How perfect for them.. I want to call someone else, but since it is under warranty can i even? I'm pissed beyond belief thanks

Incompetent Install

I purchased a new air handler / compressor pair. The evening prior to the install, they dropped of the air handler in my driveway, where it set in the rain all night. I complained, they brought a new air handler. I had to call two days later because the unit was not cooling. They replaced the air handler again. Months later we needed to use the heat. I could feel element in the air handler heat up, but the blower would not turn on. ATC basically told me too bad, not our problem they were going to charge for a service call. The tech that showed up, found that the genius installer set up the thermostat for gas heat. Today I walked into the room where the air handler is. The condensate drain clogged, but the clean out port was installed below the overflow sensor, and was covered with electrical tape, not properly capped. The result - flooded room / ruined carpet. Thanks ATC! Never again.

Air Around the Clock

My refrigerator broke back in June of 2012. I called ATC which I had a service contract with. I find out that the service contract does not include my refrigerator which was a surprise. Never the less I requested a quote which was about $1500. I had them begin to fix the refrigerator. Six months later and three separate repairs and over $1500 down the drain they could not fit it. They are unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. The work they did was so bad my wife and I could not believe our eyes. I later found out after looking on line this is a common theme for ATC. I wished I did some research before I allowed these crooks in to my home. Buyer Beware !!!!!!
