Grossly over charged for their poor workmanship

So, my 87-year-old mother had a new A/C unit installed 15 months ago by Air Around the Clock. Yesterday, she started hearing a clicking noise coming from the air handler.

She called AATC to see what the problem was. The problem was a loose piece of tape inside the duct flapping around. They cut open the duct, removed the tape that they had installed last year, and put new tape on it. They covered it with cement and taped up the hole they had made to gain access.

Their faulty work needed to be corrected, which took a total of 45 minutes.

They had the audacity to charge a senior citizen on a fixed social security income, who just paid almost $6,000 last year for this A/C unit, $695.00 to fix what they did wrong. They will never get any business from us again, and you should be cautious about the way they treat their customers.

ATC completely botched a new a.c. install that now after a year has resulted in my ceiling caving in!

The worst part is they still have not stopped a leak on the unit. A supervisor who closed out over 6 prior people's work last year came back to respond to the current problem and still my unit was leaking later that day.

Service person #2 came by, drained the pan, reset the moisture sensors the first guy had set improperly and later that day the leak resumed.

This morning I have service appt #3 and I will be contacting a lawyer on Monday to get them to pay for the repairs to my ceiling. This company cannot just ruin my brand new condo and get away with it.

Better customer service when AC shuts down because water line is cloggedTook 3 times for a tech to make it right

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I returned from being away for a few days to discover the water lines were clogged and dripping. I immediately called for service and had to loose two days of work waiting on the AC tech to fix the issue.

It took two days and three techs to finally get it right. They did arrive the first day and I was under the impression the matter was fixed. I had to call again the next day as it was still leaking and clogged.

The 2nd tech appeared to fix the issue however in the evening when I returned at the home after being out, it was still leaking and they finally sent a 3rd tech to my home that evening and he was the only one that fixed it properly.

Air Around the Clock needs better customer service when AC shuts down because water line is clogged. The techs need to check EVERYTHING to make sure it is working properly before signing off.

They are a rip off. Came out because I wasn’t getting cold air

Repair man goes up on roof and comes back in ten minutes tells me the capacitor is bad and a new one cost $800 to install but my Air Conditioning is old and in bad shape and should have a new Air Conditioning installed for $8000. I tell him install the capacitor He goesup on roof and come back down tells me he installed a capacitor and Hard Start kit I pay him but start thinking he came at 11am and left at Noon I look up both parts he installed and cost for parts is under $100.00 so yes $800 for 1 hour work and parts. Dont ever hire this company they are rip offs my suggest is do you homework check the reviews and hire an independent contractor who wont rip you off I didnt do my homework and paid the price

Resolved: Worst company/customer service

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. I want my original thermostat returned, which was removed from my apartment without consent.

GOD AWFUL COMPANY!
Run, don't walk to the nearest exit. If I could give no stars, that would be generous.

This company is perhaps the worst company I have ever dealt with. I live in a luxury high rise in FLL. This company was on a list of approved vendors allowed into the building. Unfortunately, the list was alphabetical and I chose the first name that appeared.

On October 18, 2023, I called them to service an HVAC in my apartment that was not producing heat. I watched the tech spend over an hour trying to figure out what was wrong. In my opinion, he had no clue what he was doing. I left the room for a few minutes and when I returned, he had removed an expensive Wi-Fi thermostat that communicated with a smart app with a non Wi-Fi thermostat, leaving me with no remote option to control the heat.

I was told my thermostat was faulty. I was charged $325.00 for the new thermostat. When he left, the system was producing heat. The problem was the tech never stayed to see if the system would shut off.

THE TECH ALSO LEFT WITH MY WI-FI- THERMOSTAT, without telling me he was taking it. When I went to use the heat for the first time, it never shut off. I had the building engineer come to check the system. After careful examination, he removed the new thermostat, undid the maze of jumper wires and gave me an inexpensive thermostat to hold me over until I replaced that with a Wi-Fi thermostat.

So now I call the company to complain and ask for a refund. I spoke with Brittney, who represented herself as a supervisor with the company. I explained the situation and requested a refund. Brittney took the position that they did nothing wrong and no refund was offered.

I suggested we split the difference. 'No' to that as well. I told her I would write a scathing review (which I realized once I got to the review page, I was in the majority of one star reviews, so I see why she didn't care. She did call me back and offer a one year maintenance contract, but I explained that I was selling the condo and certainly wouldn't want them back in my apartment anyway.

I did tell her that I would make sure that their company was removed from the approved vendor list for my building and she promptly told me I would hear from their legal department if I did that. Now that's customer service! Incidentally, after discussing my situation with our building management, they have been removed from the approved vendor's list. Lastly, where is my expensive Wi-Fi thermostat?

Why did he take it without permission? I'm not saying they did this, but I have heard of companies doing this and then re-selling it to some other unsuspecting customers. I want it back.

Just a horrible experience. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES, DISHONEST CROOKS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS OR HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! This company is running SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES and are DISHONEST.

We called them out and found out our fan was not working, MIND YOU THIS IS A BRAND-NEW UNIT! They said they would waive the initial fee for coming out if we signed on for their 10-year labor warranty for $2000+ dollars. We decided against this and told them we would just pay for the labor, thinking labor couldn't possibly be more than $300, because we at least had the warranty for parts only. These crooks decided to charge us $895.00 for labor only!

When we tried to understand why they charged us so much and negotiate a fair price they became very rude and disrespectful, and they sent their technician out next day and removed the parts that they had already installed. They decided to TRESPASS onto our property and remove parts that were UNDER WARRANTY instead of working with us. Charging $895.00 for labor is outrageous and criminal!

This company has despicable business practices, rude employees, and arrogant criminal management. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Cons:
  • Price gouging
  • Arrogant criminal management
  • Shady business practices and are dishonest

Preferred solution: I don't want anything from them. I don't want these crooks back on my property. No telling what they would do to my unit just because I didn't agree to signing on to their outrageous $2000+ labor maintenance warranty. They are criminals.

Needs constant service

The water line always clogs even though I use vinegar and bleach and make sure the outside pipe isn't blocked. AC is still under warranty.

Just called for service and was told in a curt manner that emergency service is $190. Told her it's under warranty, and she repeated the above, adding that regular service is business hours m-f.

So now i wait a whole day for service with drain line dripping into a bucket, so AC stays on. Disappointed in tonight's customer service.

Got a AC from them 6 months ago and is already broke

I got a brand new 5 Ton AC installed on 03/07/2023 (6 months Ago) by Air Around the clock. Few weeks ago I got a email from them telling me that I need to schedule a maintenance appointment.

I called and they scheduled for 09/14/2023 (Thursday morning).

They came and did whatever they need to do, they left everything seems fine and the next day (Friday night) my AC stopped working. Yes! After their maintenance visit my air stop working.

We called them and they sent someone here (Saturday) the guy said that I need a new compressor for my BRAND NEW AC.

So I said to him this is a brand new AC how come I need a new compressor. The technician told me that he does not make AC so is not his fault.

So this is how we get treat buy Air Around the Clock.

THEY DON'T MAKE AC.!

I called their office and seems that they need to order a NEW compressor FOR MY BRAND NEW AC.

It is 85 F inside my house right now.

The lady on the phone told me that she need to get all the information from the technician to call me and let me know when they will come to fix my BRAND NEW AC.

As you cant imagine nobody call me so I kept calling today We called and they said 4 to 5 days.

Because is coming from fort Myers she said!! Sounds like They are walking here with the compressor to take 5 days to get here.

Funny enough to install the system was next day.

They over charge the warranty.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

every time they are called they evacuate and recharge the system and add more oil every time so the unit has more oil than refrigerant to save them money yet warranty will pay for that, My compressor went out and they replaced it at he time there was oil in the yard in a ten foot radius of the unit , the Teck said i have never seen so much oil. They replaced it and eight months later the compressor failed again breaking both copper tubes and oil everywhere again .

I hear them talking crap thru the windows and when you confront them they shut up and talk down to you like you dont know anyting . I have moved on to Four star air, I will never call air around the clock or there parteners , All year cooling!

Dishonest

Hi, I have the displeasure of being a customer of this company for more than 20 years, I am already on the second unit in 17 years, and the second unit they did not give me 10 years of warranty, which is normal, in addition to the price of the units, they have cost me more than $3k in repairs, and today I had another visit, because my air did not cool, in the visit the technician said, that my compressor was hot, and that I would probably have to change the unit, but he said if I wait about 4 or 5 hours, for it to cool down, it could work, but during this visit, he removed some connections, and put them back in place, and after removing the fan, to have access, the compressor disconnected one of the connections of the compressor, more than chamer the technician I saw in the gas inlet pipe, I have a window that I can see if the gas is circulating or not, and it was circulating, returning to the copressor and the technician, who said that the compressor was blocked, as if it circulated the gas, and he told me to change the device, all for a cost the $5,600, now I went to the device, and I looked and found that a connection was out of the compressor, and that a layman would not see it and would not be able to reconnect, where I see the most lack of HONESTY of this company, I advise everyone not to use this company that is dishonest with customers

Billed charges with no itemization.

My 3 year old, $9,000 air conditioner motor was replaced today, under warranty. But it seems that the parts and labor (1/2 hour of work) was $795.00.

My warranty covers parts, only, but tell me how ordering and shipping a new motor, and installing it, can cost $795.00.

I don't get it. Air Around The Clock states, "We don't itemize bills." I guess not.

I had purchased 4 Air condition maintenance check up. I had used two of them already and had two remaining.

Paid close to $400 for the four visits. Im in the process of moving and only used two of the four. Then youre around the clock refuse to Refund me the two check up said I didnt use. They said that the two would cost $180 instead of dividing it all the way to the four that I purchased.

Im on a very low income and I could use that money. I will never recommend or ever use air around the clock again as long as I live

I had Air Around the Clock install my AC a few years back. I called them because my AC unit is not working.

The technician took 2 minutes to look at my AC without checking it and recommended a fan motor replacement. When asked when the part would come in he could not say, called customer service who could not say. Spoke to manager who thought my questions were funny.

Completely unprofessional. Total cost for 2 minute review $95 plus $599 for a part that they did not know when would come in.
